THE Cam!!!

I guess i need to thank god for all the good things that he's given me!

As if the 2MP cam in my phone wasn't enough, I ordered another digicam, the Canon S2 IS to be precise :)

All thanks to Manna aka Manohar for safely transporting it all the way from Chicago to Hyderabad.

At first look, it seems a little bulky compared to the sleeker cams available. But its a beast and it has a lot of punch packed in its small size (compared to the bulkier SLRs).

Dont have the time to read the manual now, so clicking all photos in the 'Auto' (read Dummy) mode.

Will upload pics as i click...

Cheers

A new phone

Recently bought this new phone, a Sony Ericsson W700i and I'm totally in love with it!!
I've always wanted an all-in-one that plays music, takes pics and of course, neatly fits your pocket(and your bill).

The walkman feature is amazing and the stock earphones are very good. They fit snugly and there is no problem of falling out. Sound clarity is excellent and the 'megabass' feature just adds icing to the cake!! So here's something that can play LP, Floyd and Metallica when i want to, wherever i want to... The sound quality is far superior to the N series (N72 and N70), except maybe the N91... but its far lighter than it. Nokia 6270 isnt too bad either, but i prefer the candy bar design to its slide-to-open.

Here' just an example of what the 2MP cam offers:

This is our office building at The V.

Clarity is enough i guess, for a cell-pone cam.

Cricket @ Cognizant

Only disadv is the lack of zoom when large image size is selected and the absence of auto-adjust feature.
It'd have been a killer if these too were included.

For its price, it sure is a good deal.

CATastrophe

The CAT!!

Well, I was looking out for it to bail me out of my boring and underpaid IT job. Preparation was needed, it was ages since i last held a pen. I needed to put in some serious hours to get back in touch with quant and thoroughly brushed up DI basics . Joined the TIME AIMCATs prog too, hoping it'll be of some help in getting me ready for what i was about to face.

After 4 months of on n off prep, the d-day (dooms-day) drew closer.
Finally, on Dec 19th, i felt i had done enough(prep-wise atleast). The paper threw no major suprises at first glance... 75 questions, 5 answer choices were small things that i had come to expect. Started off with quant and it seemed pretty easy. I felt i had a decent chance here, and was silently smiling to myself. All these weeks of effort(doing nothing but maths) seemed to paying off!! Then i went on to Verbal...

and thats where it hit me... Questions that take 5 min to grasp, leave alone answering them!
After a very forgettable 1 hour (ya, i spent an hour on it) went on to DI. The sets were relatively easy and i felt i had done a decent job there as well..

A week after the debacle, i was still in shock. Verbal, one of my stronger points had let me down, miserbaly. Forget IIMs, getting a call from even a pvt college seemed like a distant probability.

Hmmm... seems like I'll have to stay with Cognizant for another lousy year :(
